Thailand Assistant Director of Mobilization

The role is based out of Thailand.

The purpose of the Assistant Director of Mobilization is to work with the Director of Mobilization to inform, inspire, and involve people to become more involved in Buddhist missions. The metric to focus on is the number of people we have identified, brought to the field, then helped them begin serving the Buddhist world as a full-time missionary. This ministry role is full-time and support-raising or self-funding is required. The role is based out of Bangkok, Thailand.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside the Director of Mobilization to provide comprehensive support for all mobilization activities and programs, contributing to the overall effectiveness and success of mobilization efforts.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Mobilization to develop and implement new strategies to generate interest in missions among key target audiences.
  • Track and report key mobilization statistics---including inquiries, qualified candidates, applications started and completed, and interviews---for the Director of Mobilization during team meetings.
  • Work with the Vision Trip Coordinator to regularly assist with Vision Trips, assist with applicants questions and provide necessary information, collaborate on program enhancements, increase participant recruitment to target audiences, and contribute to marketing and promotion efforts.
  • Partner with the Mission Trip Coordinator to assist with Mission Trips, assist with applicants' questions and provide necessary information, strengthen the program, expand the pipeline of church partnerships, campuses, and conferences, create pathways to long-term roles, and contribute to marketing and promotion efforts.
  • Work with the Internship Coordinator to design and implement internship opportunities, strengthen the program, and contribute to marketing and promotion efforts.
  • Partner with the Next Steps Coordinator to design and implement improved methods for connecting people to long-term field service. Responsibilities include maintaining regular contact and follow-up, answering questions, offering encouragement, sharing helpful resources, providing prayer support, and nurturing individuals through their decision-making process.
  • Collaborate with the Prayer Coordinator to develop creative approaches that inspire prayer for more laborers, increase prayer participation, and strengthen prayer support for the mobilization team.

Required Qualifications

  • Must personally embrace GFM's purpose, vision, values, and statement of faith
  • Must identify as a maturing believer in Jesus Christ with a high view of Scripture (2 Tim 3:16-17; Col 3:16-17)
  • Must demonstrate humility, teachability, and an ability to work well with others (Eph 4:15)
  • Must display advanced interpersonal relational skills and be dedicated to peacemaking (Heb 10:24-25)
  • Must function well both independently and in a team environment (1 Cor 12:25-26)
  • Must be able use or learn internal communications and technology systems (Email, Google Drive, Slack, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Must complete GFM's Missionary Training School or Online Missionary Training School.
